Congnitive Educational Therapy -- just don't do it

Well, it's been ages since I've posted -- BUT, in the meantime, we have tried Cognitive Educational Therapy. I really wish I had something wonderful to say -- but, no, I don't. Don't waste your money. We did, and saw no results.

We took our son to have these three hour interactions with a "teacher" who worked on this Cognitive Educational Therapy, and at least for my son, there was very little to no improvement in his working memory. We still have the same struggles, the same situation where he is taking a long time on tests, the same inability in his thinking speed, etc. Granted, maybe I was expecting miracles. But heck, when you pay that amount of money, expecting a miracle isn't too much to ask.

The other thing is, the entity who provided the service tests your child before and after. We should probably go in for the "after" test, but I haven't so far. I'm sure that the "after" test will show all sorts of improvements. And he may have improved, but only slightly.

We have seen improvements due to a change in ADD meds lately -- and I'll write about that in my next post.
